It’s hard enough messing up on an NBA court in front of thousands of arena spectators and millions of viewers at home, but it’s even worse when you’re the son of LaVar Ball and play for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Even though Lonzo Ball’s Lakers picked up an impressive 127-113 win against LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers, it wasn’t all smiles for the point guard, as Lonzo came up short on a breakaway dunk, the ball hitting the back iron before flying towards the sidelines.

Lonzo did manage to save it from going out of bounds, but that may have made matters even worse, as he threw the ball straight to Kyle Korver, and the Cavs proceeded to hit an uncontested three on the other end in a four vs. five situation with Ball in the stands.

Of course, with all the attention Lonzo has received since entering the league, it was no surprise Twitter took no prisoners and that included some of Ball’s teammates and his younger brother LaMelo.

Fellow rookie Kyle Kuzma was asked after the game to compare his missed dunk against the Philadelphia 76ers, which was an almost-poster over center Joel Embiid, to Lonzo’s miss, and had this to say.

“I miss dunks, but they’re on people, and he’s wide-open. Bad,”

Bad indeed.
