When trying to concoct any type of ‘top players’ list for any sport, especially the NBA it seems, there will always be disagreements on player placement. That is just a fact.

Even before the age of social media, NBA fans would constantly debate with each other on the subject of ‘Who was the greatest player ever?’ or ‘Who are the top 10 NBA players of all-time?’ These debates could pop up anywhere, on the train home from work, in the barber shop, and even over dinner.

But since the advent of social media, media outlets and websites like to incite debate themselves by creating their own ‘top players’ list, which is exactly what SLAM Magazine has done for their newest issue, ranking the top 100 NBA players of all-time.

Obviously, there was always going to be some disagreements about which player is placed where in the top 100, but for some reason, SLAM’s list has become more controversial than most.

Many fans weren’t happy with a couple of selections, with the most egregious examples being Kevin Durant and Steph Curry being ranked in the top 20 above the likes of Karl Malone and Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen being ranked above Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant being ranked fifth, and Giannis Antetokounmpo coming in at number 85.

Fans definitely weren’t pleased with the Giannis selection at all.

No list will be completely 100% accurate, as each list is completely based on opinion and is subjective, so it’s impossible to please every single NBA fan, but there are some things that are agreed upon by most fans, including Michael Jordan being the undisputed GOAT, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is only a two-time All-Star, not being considered a top 100 NBA player of All-Time.

So what do you think? Is SLAM magazine’s list completely wrong, or do you agree with the majority of their selections?
