DeMarcus Cousins isn’t exactly known for being a terribly nice guy. His “tough-dog” and “rough-rider” attitude are often to blame for that, along with the many technicals he picks up on the basketball floor.
Jusuf Nurkic probably knows that more than anyone, considering his little “feud” with Cousins appears to escalate every time they meet. After Friday’s game between the two, things got pretty chippy, which eventually lead to some pretty damning comments.
“(Bleep), I mean, he’s not that tough … He looks like first team flopping … he’s never been to the playoffs—talking (bleep) for no reason.” Nurkic uttered after his battle with DeMarcus.
In this case, it’s hard to say that Nurkic deserves the benefit of the doubt here, considering Cousins is the better player on the better team. He had this to say in response, admittedly claiming he doesn’t take it personal:
“Why would anything be personal? I don’t hear anything he’s saying.”
Although the two energetic big men will have to wait until Mar. 27 to face off again, it’ll be interesting to see how they respond to each other going forward. Does this rivalry heat up, or cool down?
The jury is still out on that one, but it’s still more than fair to admit it’ll be fun either way.
