According to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com, Lonzo Ball’s injury during last weeks game against the Nuggets may sideline him for the rest of the preseason.
“I hope not, but yeah, that’s a possibility,” Lakers head coach Walton said, per Youngmisuk. “It is different with every player. He is new to the team, so we’ve got to see how long these types of injuries take him to come back from. We’d like to have him back, but again, we are not going to rush him back just to try to get him out there.”
Obviously, Lonzo’s long-term health is way more important than any pre-season game. In fact, the Lakers could even sideline Lonzo into the regular season as well if his ankle suffers any kind of setback. With the Lakers’ regular season starting in ten days, the former UCLA point guard has plenty of time to heal up and play like the star so many fans expect him to be.
