Things are brewing in Philadelphia. Honing in on the 2017 NBA Draft, it seems the action has started early this year. Announced just recently by multiple sources, the Boston Celtics will trade the number 1 overall pick this year to Philly in exchange for the 2017 No. 3, a 2018 1st rounder and a 2019 1st rounder.
The Sixers apparently weren’t the only teams in pursuit of Fultz. The Lakers and even the Suns were rumored to have interest. Ultimately though, it seems that Philly was able to offer Boston the best deal.
Lakers had interest in pursuing a deal for No. 1 pick/Fultz, but Sixers ability to potentially deliver 3 FRP's in deal too much to overcome. https://t.co/9aBUwqVMiq

This means that not only will the 76ers have a healthy Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, they will also have a scary good prospect in Markelle Fultz.
For Boston, it looks like Danny Ainge wants picks, again. For the past few years, they’ve been attempting to build assets using draft picks. Despite making the Eastern Conference Finals this year, it looks like that’s still their strategy.
Did the Celtics make the smart move, or will Fultz make them regret this trade in years to come? Either way, it’s time for the world to watch out. The Sixers are coming!
