Jose Calderon is expected to be bought-out by the L.A Lakers in the coming days and the Golden State Warriors are leading the race to sign the 35-year-old Spaniard once he has left L.A.

Jose Calderon is a 13 year NBA veteran who would bring lots of experience to the Warriors if he were to sign with the team. The Warriors reportedly want Calderon to slot into the team as a third-choice point guard, behind both Steph Curry and Shaun Livingston.

Steph Curry has been injured in both the 2015-2016 Playoffs and the 2014-2015 Playoffs for stints of time so the Warriors will want to bolster their backcourt coming up to the Playoffs in case anything were to happen to the two-time MVP.

Calderon had averaged 3.3 ppg and 2.1 apg in 12.2 mpg in 24 games for L.A  this season but now as his time is coming to an end as a Laker, Golden State will hope that Calderon can provide solid minutes off the bench as key players are rested coming up to the Playoffs.

Calderon could be just what the Warriors need if something were to happen to Steph Curry during the rest of the regular season or the NBA Playoffs so I’m sure the Warriors will do their best to bring Jose to San Francisco.

Expect a deal to be done in the coming days, as soon as Calderon receives his buyout from the Lakers.
