When having the MVP conversation, there’s no reason at all why Boogie Cousins shouldn’t be mentioned.

As yet more evidence to pile on his MVP case this season, the New Orleans Center just put up some historic numbers: 40 points, 22 rebounds, 4 blocks, while leading his team to a 123-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

For DeMarcus, it’s probably his best game of the season… and he’s had quite a few good ones. Averaging 25.3 PPG, 12.3 REB, and 1.6 BPG, Cousins is certainly having the type of year we don’t see all too often from big men anymore.

But even with as great as he is performing, one big question still remains regarding his future: will he stay? In New Orleans, he gets to play alongside power-hungry big-man Anthony Davis, former Kentucky wildcat, and 4-time NBA All-Star. Still, the team has failed to live up to early expectations, especially with the West’s other big power-houses.

And while tonight’s game will not change that reality, it definitely helped keep their season alive.
