Playing NBA 2K18’s MyGM or MyLeague mode brings out the best (and worst) of our inner NBA general manager. Whether it be swindling the Celtics for all their picks for Joakim Noah and a pair of chocolate bars, or trading away 3 of your top young stars just so you have enough cap space to have a chance at signing LeBron James, there are things within the 2K world that are possible that are just plain stupid in the real world.

The same can be said for the opposite as well, as some role players can hold insane value to us fellow GM’s purely for their great three-point shooting stats or their uber-athletic dunk animations. Here are five of the most untradeable players in NBA 2K18.

5. John Wall

John Wall is, quite honestly, an over-powered 2K player, as his combination of 90+ speed ratings, ball control, passing, and dribble animations make him a franchise point guard in 2K18, even if you have Steph Curry on the roster.

4. Dirk Nowitzki

C’mon, if you took control of the Dallas Mavericks in MyGM mode, could you really bring yourself to trade away the Maverick’s greatest ever player?

Even if he’s pushing 40 years old and his athleticism declines rapidly in-game, his three-point shooting stats and that patented fadeaway is always useful up until he retires.

3. Lonzo Ball

When it comes to rookies in 2K18, Lonzo Ball could possibly be the best, both in terms of starting ratings and potential. Lonzo starts out as a 79 overall in his first year, but very quickly becomes one of the best point guards in the league, regularly leading the league in assists per game. There’s no way any player should be trading him away if taking control of the Lakers.

2. Kyle Korver

Every team needs a sharpshooter, and if you’re smart enough, you’ll entrust Kyle Korver with that job on your 2K roster, as not only are his outside shooting ratings ridiculous, his jumpshot animation is one of the easiest in the game to master, always giving you chance at that sweet green release.

1. Thon Maker

Believe me when I say this, Thon Maker is an MVP talent in 2K18 if used correctly. Not only is he 7-1, giving him an automatic advantage around the rim both in scoring and rebounding, he has a surprisingly good stroke from deep, and can even hit his free throws at a respectable rate. Add on to the fact his massive wingspan, making him a menace on the defensive end, and you have one of the most overpowered players in the game. If you play as the Bucks, keep him. If you don’t, trade away anything you can to get him.
