Dwyane Wade has only recently been bought out by the Chicago Bulls, but the 35-year-old is already nearing a deal with another Eastern Conference team.

According to multiple sources, the shooting guard is “leaning heavily” to a LeBron reunion in Cleveland.

David Aldridge of TNT reported on Monday that there was a “strong belief within the NBA” that Wade would end up signing with the Cavs.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN later reported that Wade was “nearing a commitment” with the Cavaliers, and a deal could be set in stone as early as Wednesday.

This news isn’t much of a surprise, as both Wade and James have been heavily involved with each other every offseason since LeBron left Miami in 2014.

The pair had four very successful years between 2010 and 2014, making four consecutive NBA Finals and winning two NBA titles. The duo have also been working out together during this offseason.

The Cavaliers have always been in the running for Wade ever since rumors arose that the 12-time All-Star was nearing a buyout with the rebuilding Bulls. Other teams such as the San Antonio Spurs, the new-look Oklahoma City Thunder and Wade’s old squad, the Miami Heat, were also rumored to be pursuing him, but Dwyane’s hope of joining a contender “overtook the sentiment” of a Miami return, via Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wade will be eligible to sign with a new team, be that the Cavaliers or otherwise, once he clears waivers on Wednesday.
