Be it by giant meteors smashing the earth, super diseases wiping out the planet, or by mankind itself, life on earth will eventually come to an end. While it could happen literally anytime, we probably don’t have anything to worry about for the time being. But let’s imagine for one second that the apocalypse was happening in 24 hours. That’s right, you have one day to prepare for catastrophic destruction.

Let’s also imagine, that by some mystical power, you get to pick 5 NBA Players to help you survive the worldwide apocalypse. Depending on their strength and personality, some players would likely make better survivalists than others.

Here’s a fun list of 5 NBA ballers that would be perfect for helping you survive the NBA Apocalypse. The only catch? Each of the five guys has to play a different position than the rest.

You know all that fury and power Westbrook plays with on the court? Imagine if all that fury was by your side during an apocalypse? He’d fend off attackers, take risks, and would be vital to boosting your groups’ confidence. Westbrook is relentless, and he’d do whatever it would take to survive. All those Triple Doubles he racks up during games proves that he is a man of many skills, and he would probably be able to help survivors in many different situations. I don’t know about you, but if I got to choose who I get to survive the apocalypse with, Russ would be one of my first picks.

SG: Kobe Bryant

A brilliant mind, a priceless attitude, and a mental discipline have always gotten Kobe Bryant far on the basketball court. Those qualities would also serve well in a battle for survival. Kobe would make an excellent strategist and a brilliant leader. He’d be quick to action. If you needed a commanding voice to help your group survive the apocalypse, Kobe would be your best choice. Like Westbrook, he’d be willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. With Kobe by your side, you’d last a pretty long time in a post apocalyptic wasteland.

SF: LeBron James

LeBron would be the steady hands everyone relies on. His durability and unmatched strength would stand up against any challenge. Lebron is also a great morale booster, as everyone seems to love being with him or playing with him on the court. Naturally, he’d be able to keep the peace between your group should unrest rise to dangerous levels. Not to mention that LBJ would be able to keep relatively cool in high-stress situations. In a world devastated by destruction, The King would be a perfect unifier.

PF: Kevin Garnett

If Kobe is the brains and Westbrook is the heart, then KG would be the brawn. Garnett always played with such power on the floor. In a post apocalyptic world, that power is unbelievably important. He also has the mentality of a true survivor. KG could be the bodyguard every group wished they had. Straight up, nobody would want to mess around with him. If you’re trying to survive from dangers all around, wouldn’t you want Garnett watching your back at night?

C: Shaquille O’Neal

Okay, I couldn’t resist. KG was picked for power and strength, and Shaq falls into that category as well. But Shaq deserves a spot because of his ability to connect with others. He has a way of making everyone laugh that is just unmatched. The countless antics he pulls on TNT makes for excellent TV. But it would also help to keep everyone happy and sane during a worldwide apocalypse. Even at 45 years old, Shaq would make an excellent addition for his mix of strength and humor.  Whether you need to provide a quick punch, or need a joke for a quick laugh, Shaq will be there to provide.
