This past Wednesday, just before Game 1 of the 2017 NBA Finals between Cleveland and Golden State, 2K Sports announced the cover star for their upcoming title, 2K18.

It’s been announced that Cleveland Cavaliers star point guard Kyrie Irving will feature on the front cover of 2K’s 18th installment, playing in his third consecutive Finals this week.

Kyrie has had an outstanding year this season, posting averages of 25.2 points a game, a career-high, 3.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists a game. Pretty impressive when you consider he’s played besides LeBron James, who didn’t have a bad year himself.

This isn’t Kyrie’s first appearance on a video game cover however, as Uncle Drew featured on the cover of EA Sport’s comeback to the world of basketball, NBA Live 14, which unfortunately for Irving, was a pretty big flop.
