On Monday Take-Two Interactive Studios announced their cover athlete for NBA 2K18: Legend Edition. This former player has been on two previous covers, in 2K6 and 2K7. This former player is also a former NBA Champion. If you didn’t already guess, the cover athlete is none other than NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal.

Last year’s Legend Edition saw Shaq’s former teammate grace the cover. Also, it was announced that once again, there will an Early Tip-Off release. NBA 2K18: Legend Edition will be available alongside Legend Edition Gold. The regular Legend Edition will retail for $99 and Legend Edition Gold will retail for $149.99. It is interesting that this year’s installment of Legend Edition Gold is $50 Dollars more expensive than last year.

With every NBA 2K pre-order, you’ll also be getting some added perks. In the regular addition, you will receive “physical items” such as a limited edition Shaq poster, 5 Panini trading cards and, exclusive stickers. The digital content is more exciting. You’ll receive 100,000 Virtual Currency, 20 Weekly MyTeam Packs, Shaq in-game items and, “more”

Buying the Gold Edition might just be worth the price increase. You will receive “physical items” consisting of Limited edition Shaq poster, Lenticular, 10 Panini trading cards and, exclusive stickers. For digital content, you will receive 250,000 Virtual Currency, 40 Weekly MyTeam Packs, Shaq in-game items, early tip-off access and, “more”…

Unfortunately, 2K did not state whether or not there would be another edition of, The Prelude, this year. The announcement of 2K18 Legend Edition and Legend Edition Gold is very exciting. Now all that is left is to find out which current NBA star will be gracing the regular cover of NBA 2K18. NBA 2K18 Legend Edition features Shaq as a member of the Miami Heat. Legend Edition Gold, feature Shaq as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
